Standing in front of my Great grandparents, Mary and John Pagano upstairs apartment in New Haven, CT (2013). This photo is full circle, since it brings me to where my Great grandfather, James D. Kauffman operated his real estate brokerage for sixty years. To his credit, or discredit, he defended a case to the Supreme Court of Connecticut on a commission he did not pay. Similarly, I’ve self-litigated from small claims to the U.S. Supreme Court on my own behalf over the past 15 years --- against banks, insurers, consulting firms, fellow brokers and other entities --- with a surprising amount of wins.

I'm seated here at the Sheraton Hotel in 2018 with an old friend from Inglewood High, Kevin Davis. Both Kevin and I earned varsity letters in football, track and wrestling. In this picture we're enjoying Cuban cigars I picked up while in Cuba and talking about what else? Wine, women and real estate. Although not in that order.
